Ebay Fans, Ebaying just got easier!

Hi! It seems you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! Feel free to leave comments on posts!

We have all used ebay at some point, whether to sell or to buy that product that has already been used so we can save a little money. Ebay is building a new desktop application which is currently called San Dimas Project. Since this is a desktop application you wont have to bother searching and typing in your internet browser. Save some time while you are hunting those cheap goodies down.

The San Dimas Project is trying to get three major types of feature through this application:

Core ebay features which includes buying/selling, bidding, browse, watch list, search, etc ( Note that San Dimas will have a selling feature but only for casual sellers not for professional sellers or businesses and this feature will not be available in Beta testing, wonder why )

Second, unique desktop features like alerting you when you win or lose an item, when you are outbidded , etc.

And third, checkout and feedback features which are so very integral in ebay community

The good thing about this project is it will run on both PC and Mac so Mac fans won’t have to frown about not having all the coolest applications either.

This service is still not in public Beta so we might have to wait for a little bit. Although, there is an option to sign up for a Beta testing. I already have as I am a huge fan of ebay ( yes, cause I like to buy used things to save up some money ) and if you are too, you better hurry up.

Just so that you know, Ebay had a charity auction for the first beta user and the winning bid was $251.00. Here is the link

Are you using Safari (Mac)?

Here is another great information this Thursday for all Mac users. This software I am writing will allow you to import your del.icio.us bookmarks into Safari.

Sharing bookmarks between Safari and del.icio.us is not as easy as it is with firefox but it is certainly doable. delicious2Safari is a free lighweight desktop application that can organize imported bookmarks into your folders based on your del.icio.us tags.

Some of the features of this program:

  • Import your bookmarks as a flat list or let this program organize them into folder
  • Choose where you want to download, Bookmarks Bar, Bookmarks Menu, Safari Bookmarks

Please click here to download the software.

Thursday is Official Mac Day at Work N Play!

I have had many readers comment on my post that it would be great to see some of the applications for Mac. So to bring information to Mac readers on Mac applications and softwares I am making Thursday an Official Mac Day here at Work N Play.

Ok so it is official. I have a great software to inform you about on this inaugural Mac Day here on this Blog. I am pretty sure that if you use PC you have heard of Open Office suite which mimics pretty much all the functions of MS Office. NeoOffice is a full featured office suite ( word processing, presentation, spread sheet, drawing programs) for Mac that is based on Open Office suite. NeoOffice has integrated dozens of native Mac features and can import, edit and exchange files with popular programs like MS Office.

Some of the features of this Mac productivity suite:

  • Mac native printing support
  • Native drag and drop support
  • Native copy and paste support
  • Uses Mac OS X fonts
  • Handles Macros in Excel files
  • Handles Most Microsoft Office 2007 Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Files
  • Uses the Native Mac OS X Spellchecker
  • Uses the Native Mac OS X Address Book

This software is released as free, open source software under the GNU General Public License (GPL). This suite is very reliable and stable enough for everyday use.

Minimum Requirements for this software:

One of the best websites made using Flash

I am not someone who enjoys looking at websites made in Flash. But this website, upshot just blew my mind. Please have some patience and let this site load and you will see what I am talking about.

After the site loads double click on one of the links that is shown

After that see the ball guide you to where you want to go.

Its just fun watching this site come to action.

This site is simply the best site I have ever seen built entirely using Flash!

Ever Dreamed of owning a Great Website?

Yes, you can certainly buy ready to go websites at ebay but I am here to let you know about a service that exclusively deals with selling websites.

WebsiteBroker, a service that lists websites for sale by individuals is a great resource for people who want a good website but have limited knowledge of HTML or other programming languages. You can find hundreds of fully developed websites and I can assure you that you will find something that will match your interest.

Websites listed through this service ( most of them ) are high quality and built using programming languages with maximum functionality ( not the free drag and drop and here you go kinds ). Also some of these websites are already established on the web and already have traffic flowing to them.

With this service owning a social networking site, a custom blog, an e-commerce site that are highly advanced, functional and appealing might be just couple clicks away.
