Diigo – Post sticky notes on sites you visit

Hi! It seems you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! Feel free to leave comments on posts!

I came across this site recently and I can definitely say it has made my browsing experience much more simplified and pleasurable.

Diigo is a social annotation site that lets you post sticky notes on a webpage so next time you visit the site you remember something that you would otherwise forget. Just like that post-it-note that you stuck on your computer to remind you of something. Think, you visited Work N Play and added it to your favorites and you didn’t visit the site for a month ( that is rude ) and when you eventually did you forgot something that you wanted to say or write or read on the site. This is where diigo comes in handy.

When you find a site and like it or have something you want to do later you can create a sticky post to remind you later, this sticky post stays on that site and you will be able to view it only when you browse the net by signing in to your diigo account. Also you can highlight texts on any site and add a note or remark as well.

Please see the screenshots:

Highlighted text on a site that I found important will stay highlighted so next time I visit the site I know what I thought was important on that page

Diigo also offers a toolbar which makes this process even simpler. You can sign in from the toolbar and start browsing the internet as you usually do. Whenever you come across a site that you stuck a note onto, it will be displayed. To make it even easier once you post a note or highlight a text on a site, you don’t have to try to remember it as everytime you post a note or highlight a sites text it will be saved under My Bookmarks in the toolbar. So next time just click on My Bookmarks and you can get the list of all the sites that you used a sticky post to. You can import your favorites from your favorites folder as well.

I have been using this service for about a week and a half and I am loving it. It has given my aging mind some rest as I don’t have to try to remember some things because Diigo takes care of it for me.

Animoto - Create Video Using Your Images

Sometimes while browsing the internet you find things that you just can’t go without trying. Animoto is a web service that lets you create your own trailer ( just like a movie ) or video using images from your computer and a tune.

The main objective of this site is to allow you to create a video or a trailer using your images which animates or moves along with the tune of the music you provide. You can also select tunes from their library which currently has Indie Rock, HipHop and Electronica.

Sample Video I made using my Images ( I tried embedding the video here but for some reason it didnt work, so please click the link to watch the video )

The site is simple to use, just upload your pictures, choose a music and hit create video. The only drawback that I found on this site was when the video was rendering, it almost took five minutes to create a video using ten images that I had uploaded, but after the video was created I felt every second was worth the wait.

Another great feature of this site, Animoto boasts that no two videos are ever similar. You can remix your videos and add different music to them and see what it comes up with. Also you can embed the videos on your blog or website or add it to MySpace, FaceBook and other popular social networking sites from animoto itself. Just be careful as this site can be very addictive, I played with this site for almost two and half hours last night just trying to see what it comes up with.

Creating a membership is free and you can create a thirty second video for free but anything longer than that will cost $3.00 per video or you can pay a $30.00 yearly fee and get all access.

Simicilio.us - Find related articles

Similicio.us is a search engine that finds related articles based on tags or bookmarks on Del.icio.us. If you find an interesting article, and want to explore what other similar articles are there on del.icio.us then this site is a must use. If you like an article, simply paste the URL and hit search, you will get results with related articles based on tags or bookmarks on Del.icio.us.

Also, I couldn’t get much more information on this site but from what I can see on the about page , it seems like this is a one man show. So, if you like what this website has to offer please send him an email and thank him for his effort. This is some neat application.

Best Affiliate Marketing Forum

Affiliate Marketing in recent years has become very popular. We all have probably served as an affiliate marketer at some point in time, be it by using Amazon, ebay, linkshare or other services.

AbestWeb, the largest affiliate marketing forum is one of the most active and informational affiliate marketing forum I have seen on the internet. Last time I checked this forum, the number of members had reached 37,205, that is quite a number for a forum. Also since this forum has been around for over 6 years, you can find members who know what they are talking about as they have been in this business for years.

You can check new affiliate opportunities as well as the existing one’s. Also for a newbie looking for information on this subject this might be the only place you will need to visit. To see a list of honorary awards awarded to this forum please click on the link The Best in 2006

The design of this site isn’t very appealing but the information you can get from some of the top affiliate marketers can be priceless for you and your business.

Rmail - Feed Subscription

This is something that I found to be extremely useful. Most of the blogs offer you an email subscription so you can get the feeds right to your inbox ( like the one I have on the sidebar, go ahead, subscribe, ;-) but not every blog has this feature and not every blogger realizes that they can add this feature.

Rmail, an email feed subscription service takes care of that. If you find a blog that you want to subscribe using your email address and cant see an option on the blog itself, go ahead and give this service a try. The service is free, all you have to do is enter the feed address and the email address that you want to use to subscribe the feeds.

Also, if your blogging software or platform has an email gateway this service can be used to post entries to one’s blog through their email as well.

Cre8buzz - Social Networking Site

Social Networking Sites - they seem to be everywhere! Myspace and Facebook laid out the path for other networking sites but it has been a while since we have had any good ones come out on the internet. I was glad when I came across cre8buzz as this site has a very clean and fresh look to it compared to Myspace’s cluttered and advertisement jammed interface.

Cre8buzz.com, still in private Beta is said to be out in public in about couple weeks, probably 4-5 weeks at the most. I was lucky enough to get an invitation to join the private beta testing to give feedbacks on any bugs and so on. I joined yesterday and I used the site for about 3 hours and I didnt have any problems, so it is surely going in the right path.

Another things that really won me over was the design of this site. The site is clean and very soothing to look at with nice design and easy navigation. Your profile has sections divided into categories like podcasting, video galleries, pictures, recent visitors, comment box and you can change the layout as well just as you do it in myspace, but again in a much better way than Myspace offers it.

You can see from the screenshots above the layout is very clean and fresh. Once this site goes in public and if you are looking to network, this site should be a must add on your list.
