Networking - The True Essence Of Blogging

Although most of us jump into the blogging world with the hopes of making money, I personally find the true essence of it lies within networking. Honestly, my main objective when I started this blog was to make money as well. In the month of November I made about 300 U.S. dollars and since then it’s been a dead cash crop. But I have learned much more about blogging and what else I can achieve besides monetary benefits from this wonderful medium.

Since my perspective has changed I don’t look at blogging simply as a means to generate income. Ofcourse, a little supplmental income is nice but what about in the long run? In the long run I want people I know, people that are influential within a certain community, people I can learn from. This is what it all comes down to now when it comes to blogging and all this is possible through - Networking!

I have been able to build pretty good relations with some very influential bloggers and wonderful people. I just thought I would share some of my ways of networking and opening the comments section for you guys to share some with me, [Read more →]

John Cow Is Our Daddy!

Surprised? Well, before you make any assumptions please make sure to read the entire post.

We all have ideas, some we put into action and some just disappear into the thin air. The title here is one of those ideas that got lost. Just as John Cow was started by copying John Chow, I had decided on starting a blog copying John Cow as well ;-) . Yeah, I know it’s a little crazy. The whole idea was to start a money making blog by copying John Cow. But like I said I had given up on this idea and have no desire or much knowledge when it comes to writing about the money making niche.

This post ( keep reading ) would have been my first post on JohnKungpow.com ( the domain I had planned on buying ). Anyways, since the idea is now out of sight and out of mind I thought I would put the post here for you to take a look at and let me know what you think of it. I wanted to write a post ( the first post ) on that blog to create some attention, let me know if it would have been successful. Although this post is a little off topic for what I write I just wanted you, the readers, to see what I cook at times and crazy ideas I come up with ;-)

Here is the post that I had planned, [Read more →]

My Secret To Maximum Productivity

” How the hell am I going to get this done? I had planned on finishing this within a month and it’s already three months past? I never have time to do anything? Work, home, kids, family and this side project. I should have never started, after all where is the time to ensure maximum productivity?”

Do you ever ask yourself these questions or sit in a corner and ponder? Well, that’s exactly where you are going wrong! Sometimes all it takes is a plunge towards reality to develope a strategy for staying productive. To be honest, the above statement relates very much to me as I used to think the same way. But I have made some changes in my life which has helped me stay on top of my productivity game.

Quit Complaining

I have found this to be the biggest obstacle when it comes to productivity. Complaining we don’t have time to do so and so only makes us miserable and we certainly won’t achieve anything. The best way to ensure maximum output from yourself is to have a peace of mind. There is only 24 hours in a day and no matter how hard we try or complain about this, it’s going to stay the same. It’s not going to change, just face it. It’s not the time we lack, it’s the management aspect of it that we haven’t been able to conquer. [Read more →]

It Just Takes A Minute Of Your Time

Yes! That’s all it takes - a minute of your time to say Thank You!

It’s not possible to thank people enough for their efforts. Nothing motivates more effectively than the overt, emotional, unconditional feedback of an honest thank –you. Whether it’s a child, a friend, an employee, or a boss, an emotional thank – you works miracles - Richard Saunders

So what’s the idea?

Well, the idea here is to thank one person who has tremendously helped us in every single way during our blogging journey. Sometimes it’s just nice to give back. Although we are not giving much, a sincere thank you alone at times is more than enough. If they had enough time to help you out, you should have a minute to thank them. Let’s make use of this post to do just that. [Read more →]

Before You Hit Publish …

Although it might seem like there is nothing much to do after you write that killer content and hit publish, there is a lot of things you need to consider. I have been blogging for couple months and during this time I have learned some things that has helped me grow my blog and audience.

Here are a few things that I have found very useful for myself before I hit the publish button ( please note that these are my personal preference ),

What Time Of Day Do You Hit Publish?

I find this to be very important. Assuming that you submit your post to social media sites to gain some attention, this can make a lot of difference.

Most social media voters are active during night or early in the morning. Why? We all have jobs and other things to do during the day and might not be able to read or vote on articles that we want. Sites like Digg and StumbleUpon have active users 24/7 but still during the night there is more activity. Try writing a killer content and post it on digg at night and see how it does. Again, next time try submitting it during the day and see how it works out. For me early morning and late nights have worked wonders in terms of getting some social media juice. [Read more →]

A-Z of Blogging - For The Bloggers, By The Bloggers

The best way to learn, as usual, is to observe and listen to others. We as bloggers are constantly trying to find new ways to learn and soak up some tips on blogging. If you are one of us, then this post is for you. A couple days ago I started a game ” Use a Letter, Share a Blogging Tip “. The whole idea of the game was to get readers to participate and share tips on blogging, starting from A to Z.

Although anybody can visit the game post and read comments, I thought it would be much more easier to compile them all in one post. This will also give me a chance to link out to all the wonderful readers who participated in this game. Are you ready to read some of the best tips on blogging by some of the most helpful bloggers? I bet you are! [Read more →]
