Google Pagerank - Can We Stop Bitching Now?

Its been a couple days since google updated the Pagerank and as we all know there has been quite a few stir up on the internet community. Every blog you read and every forum you visit you will find something being talked about the Google’s recent pagerank update ( including this blog ). I just think its about time we leave google alone and get back to what we all do, write and provide good content for our readers and viewers.

No, this post doesn’t contrradict with what I wrote about the pagerank on my previous post, all I am saying is we need to stop bitching at some point in time and now seems about a good time ( its a little past due to be honest ). Google is google, a search engine giant and the provider of many services that we use for free. We all have opinions, that is what makes us an individual different from others. So certainly we all have our own thoughts and opinion on Google as well but do we have to bash it out every other day? I don’t think so.

I have been reading some of the popular blogs and there are posts that tries to point out some facts why their pagerank might have gone down. Reasons stretch from selling text links to Google being mad because they took the adsense off of their blog, OK! I don’t like the PageRank system but that certainly doesn’t mean I am going to bash google every single day. If it wasn’t for google I wouldn’t have this blog running right now as I used Blogger as my platform when I started. There are few reasons to hate google and many to love. Here are my reasons:

I hate the PageRank system that google introduced

I love the fact that google allows me to find what I am looking for ( accurately most of the time )

    I love google’s “google groups”

    I can’t live without google’s online services

Gmail allows me to store quite a bit of pictures although I mostly get spam on it

And lets not forget Adsense ;-)

To tell you the truth, I can’t even imagine life on internet without google. If I need to find something on the internet, the first thing I do is google it and I can bet that half of you do too. So lets be a little realistic and share our thoughts through our blogs rather than bitch at google. And we do have to remember that Google is the big fish in the ocean. So let’s stop bitching at google, although there are some things we might not like about them, they have made life much easier for us on the internet.

  1. Nice revamp of your blog. More easy to look at. :)

    jaklang from blogsrecord.

  2. Well stated. Anyone or anything of power is usually the subject of great debate and scrutiny, so I guess it’s to be expected somewhat. I agree, I sure don’t know what it would be like without Google. I’m in healthcare and I’m loving google anatomy.

  3. Well Google didn’t make Blogger, they just bought it out. So in a way you can’t really thank them for that. =)

The people complaining the loudest out of Google’s pagerank drops are the ones who were benefiting the most from selling space on their pagerank 4,5,6 site etc etc.

Oh, and I didn’t even realize you even had a post about drift city in here. I was going to comment on that one too, but it looks like it was from a while ago so I’ll just add it to this comment. I love that game. Now you went and made me have to search through all your posts for other stuff I like too =P.

  4. @Jaklang - Glad you like the design

@kab625- like I said Google does provide us with services that makes life much easier for us on the web

@Mitch- Google didn’t make Blogger but I think they made it better in a way.
Also, I am sorry that you had to go back looking for the post ;-), Drift city is fun!

  5. I can imagine life without Google. I was on the net way before they were. I remember the pre-google days, and to be honest, they weren’t half bad!

Comments Are Always Welcome!
