It’s the Mac Day here at Work N Play and once again I have a great tool for you Mac fans. This widget is on top on Apple’s download site so most apple fans might have already downloaded it but for those who didn’t know here it is.

If you are a Mac user and You Tube fanatic then this widget will simplify your life a little.YouTube Dashboard Widget allows you to search YouTube, view most viewed, most discussed and recently added videos all in a handy widget. When you click on a video the widget opens a larger window where you can view the video, also the window can be resized which is a nice feature.

There are some drawbacks to this nifty widget though. When you click on a video to watch it on a bigger window you don’t get a video control. All you can do is play and pause ( However, one of my friend suggested that if you want the standard YouTube flash control bar, you can do that using Amnesty Generator, it worked for him ). Another drawback is you can use this widget only to watch videos, if you want to rate or add the video to your account you will have to visit the website and do it yourself.

Although it is lacking some features that should have been included, if you are someone who just enjoys watching new and popular videos on YouTube, this widget will prove to be pretty useful.
